Taylor Swift’s Grammy Performance Inspired by Viral Cover Version [VIDEO]

Musician and producer Butch Walker scored the awesome opportunity to perform live at The Grammys with Taylor Swift last night — all because of a viral video that he posted to YouTube months ago. Back in November, Walker — formerly of rock band Marvelous 3 — was using Twitter to ask fans which songs he should cover at L.A.’s Hotel Cafe , where he had a residency. Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” was the number-one choice, and Walker later recorded the jam with gender-adjusted lyrics and banjolin accompaniment.

Help Haiti Now Webcast Featuring Major Celebs Airs Friday Night

Hoping to raise money for the Haiti earthquake relief effort , Bono, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, and Coldplay and somewhere around 100 other stars will entertain viewers on both the web and traditional TV tomorrow night at 8 p.m. ET in a benefit called Help Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief . The telethon was organized by MTV Networks and George Clooney, and other networks taking part will include the websites of MySpace, YouTube, Hulu, AOL, Fancast, VH1, CBS, MSN, Bing, Yahoo, Rhapsody, TV.com, BET and CNN

Here at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Sony made a plethora of announcements regarding new products, including new lines of TVs, an HD TV channel, a competitor to the Flip cam (more later today) and the Dash , but what might have been the most interesting part of its press conference last night was the surprise concert of superstar singer Taylor Swift, whom you remember either for Love Song or for being interrupted by Kanye at the VMAs.
