Shareaholic Wins Top Slot in Firefox Extend 2 Contest
February 13, 2008
Firefox is the browser of choice for myself, and a good portion of the Mashable readers out there, and it’s partly due to the browser’s ability to support a mini economy of handy add-ons, and other bells and whistles. There’s nothing like a good contest to get the developer wheels turning, have some additional plug-ins created for the increasingly social Firefox browser, and see some really cool stuff, just in time for the full Firefox 3 release (slotted for next month).
We mentioned the onset of the Firefox Extend 2 Contest in October of last year, and the winners have finally been announced. Out of 100+ entries, the judges (hailing from StumbleUpon, Mozilla, Adaptive Path, Netvibes and del.icio.us) have named Minimap, Sameplace and Shareaholic, which just released several upgrades, as the grand prize winners.
You may recall that this winning package includes the Ultimate Firefox Developer Kit, which is comprised of travel and accommodations to a Mozilla Developer Day anywhere in the world, a Macbook Pro, and a 1 year unlimited access subscription to O’Reilly’s Safari Library, among other things (you know, t-shirts, mugs, stickers, and the bit).
Here’s a quick run down of the Grand Prize winners, and a list of the runners up:
