The company already has 3% ownership in L.A.-based Spot Runner, which provides television ad spots for small- to medium-sized businesses with stock video footage and other custom options, so Spot Runner has in fact been put in the hat for speculated targets for WPP’s upcoming acquisitions. Other targets are mobile marketing firm JumpTap, as well as video ad network VideoEgg. What is apparent is that the focus for new media advertisement options seems to be a driving force for any possible acquisition.
Why not buy up all three? As advertising dollars move into new media and Internet and mobile distribution, it’s clear that those media companies involved with ad networks will have to follow these trends. Whatever the case may be, it looks like WPP is ready to do just that. Popularity: 3% [?] |
