Do you remember CliqIn, the blogging tool that helps bloggers gain visibility on other’s sites by driving cross traffic? No? I had to remind a few of the staff here what it the service was when we spoke about it today – and quite honestly the only reason I remember it was that it reminded me of BlogRush without the multi-level-marketing feel to it. Jeff of Jeffro2pt0.com caught an interesting scoop today regarding the service:
Clearly, part of the reason the service is being shut down is that it didn’t recieve the traction it needed to survive the merger; other projects within the Omniture family had a wider userbase in the same space. Still, it’s a bit unfortunate to see it go away. As someone with roots firmly in small time blogging, I love to see solid tools come out that leverage the power of groups to help small timers pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Unfortunately, I fear, BlogRush poisoned the water on this idea, and after its abysmal series failure, folks were unwilling to try a similar tool. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me – you can’t get fooled again. Or something. Popularity: 1% [?] |
